Kinesis on the BBC 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock news
Kinesis were asked for their expert opinion on Wayne Rooney's ankle injury. At the time, information from his management team was limited. We were able to explain the time line expected for Wayne's recovery and the mechanisim involved with such an injury. Kinesis are regularly used as an expert resource by the BBC and SKY.
Runner's Training Advice
For those of you training for the marathon or just running for fitness, follow our tips for injury free running;
- Avoid running on concrete. It’s approximately 10 times as hard as tarmac. Woodchip is best, closely followed by even grass.
- Although warming up prior to your run is not vital (as long as you ease in gently), stretching afterwards is, to maximise recovery and avoid injury.
- Do not be a slave to your training log. If you are coming back from inury or have not covered as many miles as you would have liked, don't play catch-up now! You may have to adjust your expectations regarding time-related goals for the big day.
- Pay attention to niggles and do not over-train. Recovery, particularly tapering for the last few weeks is essential to ensure that you are fit and raring to go on the start line.
- And don't forget that we offer a runner's MOT to identify and deal with any potential injury problems along with an expert sports massage service to get you through those long runs.
The Movement Space- New Fitness Facility in Twickenham!
We are delighted to announce the opening of our new studio, 'The Movement Space' in Twickenham. Over 1000sq foot of beautifully reburbished space provides the ideal place for a personal training session, fitness, Yoga or Pilates class.
Showers and changing are provided; particularly useful if you are heading off to work after one of our early bird sessions.
Classes include Yoga, Pilates, high energy circuits, TRX and martial arts based sessions along with pre and ante natal classes. Please contact us if there is a class you would like us to provide for us!
Most classes (with the exception of beginners workshops and 3:1 sessions) run on a drop-in basis, no membership or up front fees!
