The Movement Space Personal Trainers
- Tim Hagon
Tim's training approach is based on his belief that we should all be well rounded athletes, regardless of any specialisms we may have e.g. endurance athletes. This approach is based on the Crossfit methodology. There are 10 physical skills: cardio/respiratory endurance, stamina, flexibility, strength, power, speed, agility, balance, accuracy and co-ordination. These skills are developed through diet (laying the foundations for fitness and health), metabolic conditioning (Intensity of work from short and fast to long and not quite so fast), gymnastics (the ability to control the body) and weight lifting (the ability to move an external object)
But will this help you reach your goals? Although this approach doesn't talk about weight loss or toning, this approach focuses on helping your body be the most effective movement tool available to you, so improving the quality of your life. The by products of this: reduce fat, lower resting heart rate, more lean muscle, greater flexibility, balance, strength, improved physical appearance, improved self esteem and improved health less at risk from disease.
However, to gain the most benefit you have to put the hard work in.
Having a Personal Trainer won't guarantee you results. Muhammed Ali sums it up nicely:
"The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights." Muhammad Ali
Think of 'the fight' as your goal. To get there you have to put the hard work in, make commitments and sacrifices, however large or small. But Ali never did it on his own, he had a team of trainers to support, guide and motivate him and that's where a Personal Trainer comes in. Together we can bring your goals to life and improve your body's performance
